The 11th week of the NBA season is in the books, and it's time to check in on Maryland's pros. Here's a breakdown of how our Terps are performing in the league:
Derik Queen (New Orleans Pelicans)
- Queen is having a consistent season, averaging 13.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game as we transition into 2026.
- He's shooting an impressive 50% from the field, ranking among the top 50 players in the NBA.
- Queen's efficiency was on full display against the Heat on January 4th, where he finished with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal.
Kevin Huerter (Chicago Bulls)
- Huerter has been a productive player for the Bulls, with his averages increasing to 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
- In a recent game against the Magic on January 2nd, Huerter posted a strong performance with 20 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
- He leads NBA guards in efficiency at the rim this season, with a minimum of 80 shots, at 73.5%.
Jalen Smith (Chicago Bulls)
- Smith is averaging 9.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for the Bulls, just a few days into 2026.
- He's been on a roll, scoring 10+ points and grabbing 5+ rebounds in four of his last six appearances.
- On New Year's Eve, Smith led his team to a win over the Pelicans, recording a double-double with 14 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal.
Aaron Wiggins (Oklahoma City Thunder)
- Wiggins is shooting 45% from the field and averaging 10.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game for the top-ranked Thunder.
- He had a strong road performance against the Warriors on January 2nd, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Jahmir Young (Miami Heat/Sioux Falls Skyforce)
- Young continues to shine, averaging 23.1 points, 9.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds as we start 2026.
- He's been on fire in his past five appearances, recording 20+ points, 5+ assists, and 4+ rebounds in four of those games.
- Young's most recent performances include 30+ points against the Iowa Wolves on January 3rd and January 4th.
Julian Reese (Raptors 905)
- As the season progresses, Reese is averaging 4.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists for the Raptors 905.
- He had a stellar game against the Maine Celtics, finishing with nine points, six rebounds, three blocks, three steals, and one assist in the win.
