Ramesh Mulimani, a senior archaeologist, suspects that the ornaments may have been buried by the family's ancestors, questioning the century-old treasure theory.
Dr. Shejeshwar, however, stands by his assessment. He explains that the manner in which the ornaments were found, and their age, which is estimated to be over a century old, solidifies their status as an artifact and a treasure.
"Anything over 100 years old is considered an antique and a treasure," he emphasizes.
